In 2023 CESSDA ERIC's new 2023-2027 strategy is launched, the result of a year-long consultative process with stakeholders. This strategy capitalises on CESSDA's achievements since its establishment in 2017 and anticipates the latest trends in research data and the European Research Area (ERA).

Dear colleagues

I am happy to announce, that after a year of consultation with its constituencies, CESSDA ERIC has launched its new strategy cycle 2023-2027.

The new strategy captures the latest developments in the research data landscape and in the European Research Area (ERA): the digital transformation of data and software; the increasing cross-fertilisation and FAIRification of research and the way it is conducted and rewarded; and looks ahead to the growth and potential uses of the research data economy.

To anticipate and provide services to CESSDA members, the European social sciences research community and stakeholders from policy and industry, CESSDA collectively will focus on three strategic strands: DATA, PEOPLE and LANDSCAPE (in terms of how data influences the research community, policy and society).

As you will see in the strategy document, CESSDA ERIC embeds these three core strands throughout its objectives, with the aim of providing interconnectivity to Service Providers and their national research communities.

I am very much looking forward to continuing and expanding the fruitful work with CESSDA’s community and partners.
