Spotlight on the Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences
Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences (GESIS) is the largest German infrastructure institute for the social sciences and Germany is already a member of CESSDA. Hear from Researcher Wolfgang Zenk-Möltgen.

The Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences
Founded 1986 as "Gesellschaft Sozialwissenschaftlicher Infrastruktureinrichtungen" GESIS initially consisted of three legally independent institutes which in 2007 were merged into one infrastructure which since November 2008 has the name "Leibniz Institute for Social Sciences" (GESIS).
GESIS is always ready to advise researchers at all levels to answer socially relevant questions on the basis of the newest scientific methods, high quality data and research information. GESIS does this with essential research-based services and consulting, covering all levels of the scientific processes.
The focus of GESIS services is on collecting research data and making them available, and on related activities and information that enable the social sciences to conduct research on socially relevant issues. Its services for the research process benefit from its diverse network in Germany and throughout the world. They are committed to the principle of open science.
