Summary

The aim of the workshop is to raise awareness of research data management in Lithuania. Since this is a rather new concept for the Lithuanian research community, the workshop is meant to be a general type introduction to research data management for social scientists.

Description

Lithuanian Data Archive for Social Sciences and Humanities (LiDA) and the Center for Data Analysis and Archiving (DAtA Center) of the Kaunas University of Technology in collaboration with Consortium of European Social Science Data Archives pan-European Research Infrastructure (CESSDA ERIC) is organizing a workshop “Social Research Data Management: European Perspectives”. The workshop will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018, from 10:30 to 18:30. The venue of the workshop is the Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Kaunas University of Technology, A. Mickevičiaus g. 37-106.

CESSDA invited lecturer from the Swiss Foundation for Research in Social Sciences (FORS) dr. Alexandra Stam will give lectures on social research data management and LiDA representatives will be delivering practical assignments to the participants using the CESSDA Research Data Management Tour Guide materials. Representatives from the Research Council of Lithuania and Lithuanian Ministry of Education and Science will take part in the workshop. Representatives from “OpenAIRE” project will be talking about preparation of data management plans.
The workshop is for researchers, PhD students, representatives from national science policy implementation authorities as well as research administrators and librarians from the higher education institutions.
