The FOSTER Project aimed to set in place sustainable mechanisms for EU researchers to FOSTER OPEN SCIENCE in their daily workflow, thus supporting researchers optimising their research visibility and impact, the adoption of EU open access policies in line with the EU objectives on Responsible Research & Innovation.
The main goal was to promote open data in the research community and raise awareness about sharing research data and using existing research data.
FOSTER-CESSDA Training
In the framework of this project, a course was offered by CESSDA partners, designed for doctoral students from the field of social sciences and humanities. This consisted of a series of hands-on multi-day doctoral training events and hands-on sessions focused on good Research Data Management practices and issues related to data sharing within the current EU frameworks. They were held at universities in five European countries, organised with partners of CESSDA.
Topics covered during the training will be critical areas related to research data management for open data in the social sciences, such as metadata and contextual description, ethical and legal aspects of sharing sensitive or confidential data, anonymising research data for reuse, and writing a data management plan.
Teaching was delivered by trainers from across the CESSDA partners.
