CESSDA Data Citation Guide

This guide provides CESSDA recommendations for data citations. The core components of a data citation are presented, followed by specific and practical recommendations targeting different groups:

  1. data repositories;
  2. authors (i.e., researchers, students, journalists, etc.);
  3. academic journals and publishers;
  4. research performing organisations (RPOs);
  5. high-level research policy and strategy development entities; and
  6. ethics committees.

The Data Citation Guide has been authored by representatives from several CESSDA Service Providers: FORS (Switzerland), SND (Sweden), FSD (Finland), Sikt (Norway), ADP (Slovenia), and CSDA (Czechia).
